It used to run from Los Angeles to Chicago. It was repleat with Stuckeys and Burma Shave signs. There once was a television series named after it. It still holds memories for many people today but most of it has disappeared. It is the old highway Route 66. Perhaps the precursor to our Interstate Freeway system of today. But for those of you who want a trip down memory's lane you can still find evidence of the old highway called Route 66. Most of it still follows todays Interstate 40 from L.A. to Albuquerque and beyond. I traveled it with my wife to Santa Fe, New Mexico this summer. What a kick! We ate Breakfast at the Road Kill Cafe in Seligman, Arizona and stopped at the general store in Hackberry. I hope you enjoy this short journey down memory lane.
